LocalAgentFinder has been recognised for our continued success by being named in the Australian Financial Review’s Fast 100 list for FY21.
The prestigious listing places us among the fastest-growing companies in the country.
Over the past decade, we have developed Australia’s leading property marketplace, bringing homeowners and agents together. In FY21, LAF helped over 54,000 homeowners and generated $66.5 million in fees and commissions for real estate agents from the properties referred to them.
From startup to success
It’s a far cry from LocalAgentFinder’s startup roots. Formed in 2007 by Andrew Menzies and Rupert Greenhough, LAF has always focused on giving homeowners an advantage in the often-daunting world of property sales.
“What concerned our founders was that too many owners were starting the process at a disadvantage. The old way was very time-consuming – the owners would have to invite three or four agents into their living room to ask about their fees and sales performance. They definitely want to speak to an agent but they want this information to hand before they approach that agent,” LocalAgentFinder CEO Richard Stevens says.
Levelling the playing field
Homeowners have long-suffered from the information asymmetry that exists between property owners and agents. Critical data (including agent commissions) has not been freely available to property owners, which has impacted their ability to make informed decisions.
Our unique technology-led offering allows homeowners to review agent performance, commissions, marketing fees, selling strategies and analyse authentic reviews.
Purpose-built technology for agents
“We genuinely believe that getting the right real estate agent plays a critical role in getting the best outcome for a homeowner,” says Richard Stevens.
“At LAF, we understand how busy agents are, so we prioritise fitting seamlessly into their already busy workload. Everything we do has been designed to integrate into their existing ways of working.”
For this reason, we provide agents access to highly qualified and engaged property owners via a class leading real-time digital notification platform. The purpose-built Agent Portal and Agent app are designed to seamlessly align to agent workflows with single click interactions to engage with property owners instantly.
A bright future ahead
LocalAgentFinder will continue to find new ways to support homeowners and agents. LAF Conveyancing, which launched in 2021 in Victoria with plans to expand, is a core tenet of this.
“As a new direction for our business, it means we can support the property owner at the same depth from the beginning to the end of their selling journey. We’ve made the first steps of finding an agent and appointing a conveyancer as simple as possible with our one-stop shop,” says LocalAgentFinder CEO Richard Stevens.
Over the next financial year and beyond, we will continue to invest in our technology and diversify our offering to ensure we’re providing the best experience in the market for homeowners and agents.
